Following up on a great performance to finish second in the MCB Indian Ocean Amateur Golf Open in Mauritius last weekend, Dundee Country Club’s Louis Albertse (Jnr) shot a four-over-par in the Ekurhuleni Open over 54 holes played at Benoni C.C. this past weekend to finish 10th in a field of over one hundred golfers.
Louis had every reason to feel disappointed after shooting an excellent 3 under par round 69 on Sunday in the scheduled 72 hole tournament to move him into 7th position, only to see a handful of players not finish their fourth round due to inclement weather and the officials reduced the tournament to 54 holes.

Saturday, October 14, Dundee SPCA will be holding their charity golf day which is a 4 B.B.B.S. competition

On Friday the 10 hole meat competition, kindly sponsored by Richard Catlett, was won by Dan Scholtz on 26 points with Kevin Donaldson and Debbie Catlett finishing second and third respectively.
Saturdays combined Stableford club competition, played in gloomy and windy weather conditions, attracted a mediocre field of 28 players. Winning the competition after scoring a combined 73 points was the pairing of J Zulu and H Hlongwane followed by J Khumalo and his partner C Mkhwananzi on 71 points with G Robson and C Maphanga winning the count out to finish in third place with 69 points.
Gene Robson scored eleven points on the allocated jackpot holes to earn himself a little extra cash while there were three players to record a 2 Club on the day. A great eagle 2 on the par four, 14th hole by veteran golfer Brian du Toit, together with Coenie Munro on the short par three 4th and John Zulu recording his 2 Club on the 12th hole.
