30-over league kicks off in Ladysmith
Training sessions are held at Settlers Park, Monday to Friday from 5pm till sunset
The DN Domun Memorial 30-over league kicks off this weekend at Settlers Park.
The tournament is sponsored in memory of the late DN Domun and his contributions to cricket.
The fixtures for this weekend are as follows:
– Wanderers vs K&L African United, starting at 9am.
– Callies vs Kings XI, starting at 1.30pm.
Players are requested to be at the grounds 30 minutes before the match starts.
Training sessions are held at Settlers Park, Monday to Friday from 5pm till sunset. All teams and individuals are invited to participate. This is an opportunity for avid cricketers, young and old, to get active and be part of a team in the Ladysmith league.
Going forward, coaching will be made available to assist youngsters and anyone interested in improving their cricketing skills and technique.
With the close of the schooling year approaching, the union encourages school kids to join in the training and come to the grounds this Sunday to join a team for the season.
A coaching forum and umpires course will be available for anyone to participate in. Further details will be provided in due course.
Due to the weather and lack of time for the municipality to prepare the Settlers Park pitch, the NDCU CC vs Newcastle CC match will have to be rescheduled.
