Rain puts paid to finals, so results stay as they are
If you are going to come back and play in February, perhaps you would be interested in getting in some practice during December and January

The Spar Tops Business League final looked like it would take place on Wednesday, but alas the weather gods decided to send the rain.
Due to the rain, the final was once again cancelled, but almost all the teams had arrived at the club, so it was decided to accept the results as they stood. Therefore, the winners of the ‘B’ section were: third – Defy Appliances; second – Mortimer Toyota; first – Motor Factors.
The ‘A’ section winners were: third – Maree & Pace; second – Drakensberg Logistics; first – Siegetown Moths. Congratulations to each and every team that played this year – we do hope you all had a good time and you will be back in February.
If you are going to come back and play in February, perhaps you would be interested in getting in some practice during December and January.
What we are doing is having a Tabs-In League every Wednesday at 5pm for 5.30pm.
You come along and put your name down, then all the names are drawn and you will be in a team. The draw is done each week, so each week you will be in a different team.
You are playing for yourself, so if your team wins, every member of that team gets 10 points; second place team members get eight points each and so on. At the end of every month, the person with the highest score will receive a cash prize, so please do come and have some fun and get rewarded for it.
With Christmas so close, a bit of extra cash could come in handy.
The Prelim Masters were held at Klipbank this past weekend and I do believe it was a great success, with bowlers from all over the district descending on Ladysmith, and Klipbank’s members and some B&Bs opening their homes to host these bowlers.
I think those bowlers went home having been taken care of extremely well and feeling content. I cannot say “happy”, as only the top four bowlers go through to the Masters Tournament and as usual, some bowlers were so close – but alas no cigars!
December babies, don’t think I have forgotten you! I just don’t have my members list at hand, so I cannot wish you happy birthday by name, but will correct this next week, as I know there are quite a few. So you will have to buy a Gazette next week to see your name in print.
Please all have Lorraine Kirsten in your thoughts and prayers as she tries to adapt to life on crutches for the next few months after breaking her ankle badly. Poor Lolly, and she was stone-cold sober – no harm came to the cat that caused it!
