Celebrating Worlds Aids Day through sport in Weenen

The main aim was to have the youth of Weenen taught about HIV/Aids while playing different sport

Siyanakekela, a non-profit organisation from Weenen, celebrated World Aids Day through sport on December 22.

The main aim was to have the youth of Weenen taught about HIV/Aids while playing different sport. On the day, there was netball, soccer and volleyball.

Mduduzi Ndimande from the Health Department hosted talks with the youth on impact of HIV/Aids and the importance of knowing your status.

Siyanakekela committee members, Deli Ndlela, Sbu Madondo, Zandile Ndawonde, Zwelithini Dladla and Mrs Lamola, were part of the organising committee that included Philani Mchunu, Ntoyi Mhlongo, Mduduzi Ndimande and Mncedisi Madondo.

The winner in the soccer senior team was Uleje FC. Siyanakekela would like to thank all participants from the netball, volleyball and both senior and junior soccer teams as well as everyone who honoured the invitation, also Mr Dladla, the Ward Councillor.
