The Vryheid Cricket League has resumed after the holiday break.
Mr X faced off against Mondlo on Saturday for the first T20 clash for the year.
Mondlo had Mr X in trouble at 40/3, but a valiant effort from D Aspden (55 runs) and C van den Berg (75 runs) helped Mr X set up a decent total of 180 runs.
Mondlo was sent in to try and chase down the mammoth total.
Unfortunately, the match had to be abandoned due to bad weather conditions.
When the game was called off, Mr X had Mondlo in trouble for 34 for the loss of five wickets, with C Dougherty the pick of the bowlers with three wickets.
The Sunday fixture saw Wicket Wasps square off against Gladiators in a 50 over match.
Gladiators won the toss and decide to bowl first, with the conditions wet.
Wasps posted a total of 175/8 with A van den Heever (31 runs) and A Ellis (18 runs) the top run scorers. The best bowler was S Khuzwayo with three of the eight wickets. In reply, Gladiators could only muster up a total of 102 runs, giving the Wasps a comprehensive win.
