Treverton’s athletes’ impressive performances at the annual Co-Ed Athletics meeting and its record margin win proved that it is the top school in the field of co-educational athletics in the Midlands area.
For an unprecedented eleventh year, the team romped home to victory by a 161 point lead over their nearest rival Greytown. Three records were broken at the event, two by Treverton athletes.
There were 69 events on the programme, the College team obtained 32 first, 15 second and 18 third places.
The team also claimed five of the Victor Ludorum awards! Treverton’s star junior athlete Eugh Nyakabau broke the 30-year old U16 Triple Jump record, with a distance of 13.26m, while Nicole Whittick broke the 1985 discus record, by two metres with a throw of 27,57m.

The coveted Ludorum awards went to- Victrix Ludorum: Kylee Mc Loughlin, Kate Armitage and Bophelo Seoe,Victor Ludorum: Siboniso Ndlovu and Eugh Nyakabau. Treverton’s success as a premier athletics’ school must be largely attributed to Rianne Botha-College’s dedicated, energetic and talented Athletics coach for three decades.
