Nardini Convent School has plenty of news and events from the first term of the year.
Sports:
The school’s swimming gala took place on February 27, with the following learners emerging as winners:
Van Aswegen Cup (Most Improved Girl
Swimmer) – Zemvelo Ndaba
Pacific Pools Cup (Most Improved Boy Swimmer) – Siyamthanda Mbamba
Smit Cup (Best Junior Girl) – Andrea Green Thompson
Vyncke Cup (Best Junior Boy) – Zamokuhle Buthelezi
Els Cup (Individual Medley: Girls
Under-13) – Oluhle Nhlapho
France-Brotherton Cup (Individual
Medley: Boys U-13) – Samuel Nel
Engel Trophy (Senior Relay) – Bosco
Banks Cup (Swimmer of the Day) –

Hayley and Taryn Smith Cup (Victrix

Nardini thanks the parents who came to support their children at such short notice, as the school had to change the day to Thursday because of the weather.
A word of gratitude also goes to all who helped as officials and tuck shop assistants.

“The school also thanks Mrs Masondo for accepting to be our Lady of Honour for the day. It was a wonderful day indeed.”
Rugby The following boys were selected for the Vryheid District team:
U-12: Kwenzokuhle Dlamini, Dimpho
Motloung and Agape Nyawo
U-13: Awande Ndlovu, Sbonga Mnyandu and Samuel Nel.
These young and talented rugby players will be attending the Northern KwaZulu-Natal trials.
Netball:
The following girls were selected for the Vryheid circuit, then Zululand district for netball: Nonzuzo Mdlalose, Senamile Mbonambi, Lusanda Dhlamini, Melokuhle Madondo and Ayandiswa Myeni.They will all be going to Durban for the NKZN trials.
Concert is the year’s highlight Nardini Convent School has again put on a spectacular concert – Mbube The Lion King.
Young and old raved about the young talented actors and dancers which Nardini possesses.
The school thanks Nadine Pillay, Smangele Mtshali and the Nardini teachers for the time and effort they put into making the show the talk of the town.
