This morning started off like any other – checking my phone to see what would be happening during the day.

Imagine my shock – missed calls, dozens of BBM’s and Whatsapp’s and even more Tweets, all bearing the same earth-shattering news:

Nelson Mandela had passed away.

I have never personally had the privilege to meet Tata Mandela, but I can wager a good amount that not many on this planet don’t know who he is or haven’t been indirectly touched by his legacy in some small way.

Today is a sad one indeed.

Around the world, tributes are pouring in. Shock, devastation, grief… His loss is bone-deep.

Many of us are wondering the same thing – what happens to South Africa now? Will Nelson Mandela’s loss signify the end of peace?

I think this comment sums it up more accurately:

Rest in Peace Tata Madiba. Your legacy will live on in our hearts as well as this country. Hamba kahle.
