Two pythons were recovered in our area this week.
One could say it’s been a slithery week!
The first, which was unfortunately driven over and killed, was found slithering across MacFarlane Street and eyewitnesses say that it seemed as if the snake was on the hunt.
The second Rock Python was spotted by a family in their yard on Monday evening.
The family did the right thing by immediately calling the fire department on 036 352 6464/4444 and keep an eye on the snake.
It was captured and released into the Weenen Game Reserve the next day.
Although most snakes are going into hibernation now, residents are reminded that if these scaly reptiles invade your home or property do not kill or harm them but rather leave it to the experts to take care of.
Be careful and be compassionate too.
