"So why do you get '503-ed' or 'WAS-ed'?" you may ask. Well, the answer is stranger than fiction to be honest...

Okay, for some of you attempting to access our website, you have met our arch-nemesis ‘503 Service Unavailable’, with the disclaimer under it informing you that “No server is available to handle this request”.

Sometimes you will get the super improved error message, the one we call “We are sorry… Something has gone wrong on our end” or WAS to use its technically correct acronym.

“So why do you get ‘503-ed’ or ‘WAS-ed’?” you may ask.

We could go into a long, technical explanation revolving around the state of South Africa’s infantile internet networking infrastructure. We could also point to load-shedding and the perils of copper theft on our country’s already strained communications backbone. But the simple answer is what it is. The internet hates us!

Yes, we have proof of this, because whenever we upload a really good story, down goes our internet and your ability to look at those really fantastic stories, videos or photos!
