Resident Evil back with a vengeance?

The latest CG film from Capcom releases in the early part of next year.

NEWCASTLE – In case you’re out of the gaming loop, there’s a lot brewing on the Resident Evil front.

Besides the release of Resident Evil 7 biohazard TAPE-2, the second chronicle of the upcoming title, Capcom has also released a trailer for Resident Evil: Vendetta.

This teases the upcoming computer generated (CG) movie.

While the jury’s still out on the live-action movie series bearing the Resident Evil name, the CG offerings have been met with good reviews.

Plus, we get to see some familiar faces.

The trailer opens with our favourite agent, Leon Scott Kennedy walking through some kind of basement which appears to be lined with shelved bodybags.

Gratuitous jump-scare warning: something is out there.

We next see the boulder-punching Chris Redfield and his (presumably) BSAA team flying in on a chopper and entering a mansion, where things go horribly wrong.

Yep, we’ve got zombies in these parts.

We then get shots of gunfire, Chris escaping the horde, a classic dive through a window, Leon firing off a few rounds, all backed by a stirring musical score.

Who’s the mysterious man at the end of the trailer?

The Resident Evil site states Biohazard Vendetta (the Japanese title of the franchise) will be released in spring of 2017 – for us Southern Hemisphere residents, that’s around March.
