Living a life of mindfulness and gratitude requires people to stop comparing themselves to one another

Living a life of mindfulness and gratitude requires people to stop comparing themselves to one another. The problem with these comparisons is that they assume some sort of overlap of life experiences.
It is difficult to truly embody the perspective of another person. Each life is so extraordinarily different, even among the closest of friends and family members.
People share many motivations and experiences but that does not make it any easier to accurately understand the life of another person.
To pity is to humiliate. To idolise is to dehumanise.
Comparison is the root of all feeling of inferiority. Don’t envy anyone; their path is different from yours. Run your own race of life and with patience. Do not compete with anyone. Seek to exceed your own expectations.
Comparison is an act of violence against the self. Living life with contentment is the greatest well-being. Comparison is a thief of self-worth, self-realisation and activation.
Do not deprive yourself of this!
