Nine people not to invite to your Christmas Party
We sometimes don't spend much time on the party guest list, and often people who shouldn't have been invited, end up ruining the festivities.

When planning a Christmas party, there is quite a lot to do, like planning for food, snacks, drinks, entertainment, table settings, venues, dress-codes and so on.
With all these things consuming the party planning, we sometimes don’t spend much time on the guest list, and often people who shouldn’t have been invited, end up ruining the festivities.
Below are nine people you should consider not inviting to your Christmas party, if you want it to be a success.
1. The person who lives on the other side of the country
Chances are, that long lost friend who moved thousands of kilometres away years ago, won’t come to your party even if you invite them. So instead of wasting the invitation, give it to someone closer to home, who won’t need to spend a lot of money travelling a great distance to attend your event.
2. Someone you don’t actually want at the party
We all have that one person we do not get along with, but would make a point of inviting to make the nemesis feel insignificant or for whatever reason. Don’t do it! You will just tire yourself out from keeping up with the Kardashian’s, and ruin someone else’s Christmas.
3. People you used to hook up with
Inviting exes to a party you’re hosting, is a big no-no. Aside from the fact that you could make your new partner uncomfortable, what happens when you reach the point of epic drunkenness, and decide you need to rekindle a bond, which you know you’ll regret the next morning?
4. People you just met
It’s nice to meet new people, make new friends and be convivial with fun strangers. You often feel comfortable inviting them to your event, even after only one meeting.
But you technically don’t know them from a bar of soap, so what if they turn out to be a thief or a murderer…Then what? Stay cautious!
5. The overbearing know-it-all
We all know one person, who knows absolutely everything, about everything in existence. They are tolerable, so this one is a choice. But do you really want to spend the night agreeing that you know nothing about anything, having other guests being annoyed and offended by an egotistical wiseguy?
6. The annoying drunk
In every circle of friends, there will always be the one who takes social drinking to a whole new level. With uncanny, overpowering and unpredictable behavior, there is always the possibility they will ruin your special event.
In a club and at a drinking fest, they are the perfect companions, but do you really think they’re good company for a civilised function?
7. The forward, overly flirtatious woman
Generally, Christmas Party guest lists include many couples. However, sometimes there is that single 50-year-old reliving her teenage years, flirting with any and everything that breathes in her drunken state.
Chances are she will be all over your guests in an uncomfortable manner, and may make other women angry. Don’t think you want the unnecessary drama, do you?
8. The pathological liar
The worst thing about attending a party as a guest, is having to deal with a stranger, who tells unrealistic truths, like how he fought off the four men he swore at, with nothing but the juice bottle in his pocket.
Every word they utters is questionable, and they probably will become an annoyance to your guests. This one should be getting help, not an invitation.
9. The instigating trouble-causer
The gossiping, story-carrier at any party is a problem. They create drama among friends, pass remarks to start unnecessary fights, and always get in everyone’s business to entertain themselves.
Fortunately, they easy to identify and can be avoided by not being invited.
Stay wary of these nine characters, and your party will be a blast, for those you actually want to spend time with.
