Budget tips when hosting a Hen party
Planning a wedding is in itself a costly affair, saving a buck here and there can contribute to that cake you've had your eye on but couldn't meet the price.
Planning a wedding is in itself a costly affair, saving a buck here and there can contribute to that cake you’ve had your eye on but couldn’t meet the price.
Here are nine tips to host a cost-effective bachelorette party:
1. Pick a venue that is local.
You can save costs, by having the bachelorette party at one of your friends houses or maybe the local community hall.
2. Car pool. Save money by driving together in a car or better yet, hire an uber for when the girls go over board.
3. Rent a chalet. Consider booking a self-catering chalet at your nearest resort as opposed to multiple hotel rooms. You’ll save big, and you’ll have a kitchen if you’d like to cook.
4. Stock up on alcohol before you leave. Take advantage of sales and major savings by stocking up on alcohol before you leave. Check your local grocery stores for specials on a case of wine, or stock up in bulk from a wholesaler.
5. Plan to eat in for some meals. Buy groceries and split the cost with other bridesmaids for lunch or breakfast. That way, you can splurge on your meals out!
6. Skip the kinky props. Because the bride doesn’t really need penis-shaped straws.
7. Coordinate outfits, don’t commit to buying new ones. Work with what you already have. It would be senseless to buy costumes for your bachelorette girls only for them to use it for one night because of its ridiculous nature, you wouldn’t see them in it again. Rather settle on a specific colour and have them accessorise and you can have a contrasting colour such as whiteto stand out.
8. Plan one big activity, then let the rest of the weekend be casual. Pre-plan a winery tour, a big night out, or a bar crawl, but don’t plan major (and costly…) activities all weekend long.
9. Choose bars with reasonably priced drinks or specials. Don’t pick the most expensive club to go to, and if you do, plan to stay for only one drink.
