Believing in something adds value to your life. However, here are six beliefs that are simply not true.
Each person has a unique set of beliefs, which sets them apart from the crowd. However, some beliefs are so odd, that one needs to wonder if the person is indeed being serious.
1. Flat earth society
While virtually everyone is aware that the earth is round, especially with photographic evidence taken by astronauts and satellites, there are a few people who actually believe the earth is still flat.
Why anyone in this day and age would believe the earth is a mystery in itself, especially since the other planets are all round.
2. Urine therapy
According to some, there is virtually nothing urine can’t do. It is actually believed to be able to cure everything from the flu to cancer. It is also said to beautify your skin.
Urine drinking is so widespread in India that in 2009, an Indian group had plans to manufacture a product consisting of aloe vera, gooseberry, and cow urine.
3. The moon landing never happened
It is speculated at least six per cent of Americans and 25 per cent of British people do not believe the moon landing ever happened. This is despite video and photographic footage of the event taking place.
4. Vaccines are dangerous
Despite vaccines having saved thousands from diseases such as polio, a handful of people still believe vaccines are unhealthy and could lead to serious development issues in children. Regardless of scientific evidence, anti-vacciners are adamant about their beliefs.
5. Elvis is alive
Elvis’s music might live on in our hearts, but a number of people still believe the King of Rock ‘n Roll is alive and well, despite him having died August 16, 1977.
6. Bigfoot
According to American folklore, Bigfoot or Sasquatch is a simian like creature that apparently lives in forests. While a number of people believe in the large creature, the majority of photographs taken of the being are blurry, which leaves no solid evidence of the creature. Many documentaries have also been made, where people tried to search for the being.
