The Newcastle annual Women’s World Day of Prayer

March 3 – The Newcastle annual Women’s World Day of Prayer will be held at St Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Murchison Street at 10am. This year the featured country will be the Philippines and we extend a warm invitation to all of the women of Newcastle to attend this international event.

The Lekker Amajuba Race

March 4 – The Lekker Amajuba Race is set to take place from 9am to 8pm at Majuba Lodge.

Enjoy activities such as archery, paintball, inflatables, Dirkie’s Fun Farm, a beer tent, exhibitions and food. Guest artists of the day will be Armand Hofmeyr, and various other upcoming artists. Newcastle Organisation of the Aged (Nofta) 80s Come Back

March 18 – Nofta will host a 80s Come Back celebration at the Nofta Service Centre.

Tickets will cost R80 per person. A top DJ will entertain guests.

LHS Reunion

March 18 – The Lincoln Heights Class of ‘97 will host their Denim and Diamonds 20 year high school reunion at the Style and Grace Wedding and Conference Centre at 6pm.

Newcastle of the Aged (Nofta) 18-day tour of India

April 9 to April 27 – Nofta will embark on an exciting 18-day trip to India. Departure will be from Johannesburg to Delhi on April 9, and return will be from Mumbai to Johannesburg April 27.

CKN Dance School

Sat-Chit-Ananda Temple Society: 42 day Hanuman Chalisa Recital and Hanuman Jayanthi

Bhalisa recitals during March, and end on Hanuman Jayanthi on April 11.

– The programme starts at 6pm from Monday to Wednesday, 7pm on Thursday, and 5.30pm at the weekend.

– Interested organisations, individuals and Hunuman devotees are invited to render bhalisa recitals.

Interested parties are invited to attend a meeting at the temple on February 20, at 6.30pm to elect a committee to plan an 108 bhalisa recital play on April 9.

Everyone is welcome to attend as we pray for world peace, health, prosperity and personal upliftment.

Hindi Pracharni Sabha (HPS)

Hindi classes are held every evening for children and adults. Students are registered with the Hindi Shiksha Sangh, should they wish to write the National Examinations.

Hindi Classes at Hindi Pracharni Sabha

Registration of children and adults who want to learn the Hindi language has commenced for all grades at HPS. Hindi Bol students will learn oral communication only.

Other students will be registered and taught by qualified and experienced educators for their relevant grades.

These students will write the annual National Examination with the Hindi Shiksha Sang.
