#TechTuesday – POLL: Useless powers you can’t even call super

We're not interested in genuine abilities; this week it's all about those less-than-useful powers.

In the comic book world, superpowers are a dime a dozen.

And for every web-shooting, laser-blasting, thunder-wielding, boulder-breaking character, there are bound to be some duds.

We’re treating you to a list of notable no-names.

For clarity sake, Squirrel Girl is not part of this list because she freaking defeated Doctor Doom, Terrax, M.O.D.O.K. and Thanos!

Here are others who enjoyed less success:

Hindsight – Besides the 20/20 vision, Marvel’s Hindsight has the super-useful ability to determine how events might have played out given different actions. From an analysis view, helpful; from a superhero view, useless.

Antennae Lad – A reject from the DC’s Legion of Superheroes, this guy can pick up sound waves from different eras, anywhere of the planet. Trouble is, his control over those powers is sporadic at best.

Tildie Soames – When the average person has nightmares, they end with waking. Not Tildie Soames – her nightmares manifest as real monsters, an ‘ability’ which left her parents and a police officer dead. At present, she’s in rehabilitation with the X-Men, which is a plus.

Gin Genie – From a distance, seismokinesis (creating seismic movement with the mind) sounds great. Gin Genie’s problem was, the power of her seismic vibrations was based on her blood alcohol level. After a night out, she was super-powerful but also super-drunk.

Eye-Scream – This villainous mutant sought the destruction of the X-Men because they made his power seem ludicrous. Problem was, it was – transforming into any flavour of ice cream… Marvel is owning this list!

The Blimp – Although part of a parody series, we’ll count him. The Blimp possesses the power to fly, but relies on tailwinds to gain any kind of momentum, so he only counts half a point.

Sorry. This form is no longer available.
