He describes to us how he enjoys singing along to Israel Houton records, and that he has purchased all his latest CDs
If music be the food of love, play on… Our very own budding musician, 11 year-old Amiel Kumar, loves music and playing it too.
From a tender age, his father Lolly Kumar helped him to read music and play instruments. Amiel plays drums, guitar, bass guitar and keyboard.
Being the youngest in the family, if he’s not watching movies or studying, then a musical instrument is at hand.

Being a Christian, Amiel also performs in church at times.
“I love to play and sing any type of music,” he smiles.
When his cousins or friends visit, he entertains them with his musical skills, making them clap and dance to his beat.

When a Ladysmith Gazette journalist asked him who his favourite musician is, he replied with a huge smile that it’s Israel Houton.
“One day I want to be just like him!” exclaims Amiel.
He described how he enjoys singing along to Israel Houton records, and that he has purchased all his latest CDs.
Besides his family and music, Amiel says he also loves Jesus Christ. He enjoys going to church and was very excited about Easter.
