Vryheid’s roadside goes to wrack and ruin
While it has been established that the exposed section of pipe is electrical piping, a source at the municipality confirmed that the Department of Roads and Stormwater was aware of the problem and would be attending to it shortly.
HEADING down Church Street, towards the taxi rank, just past East Street, one might be well-advised to watch one’s step if travelling on foot.

There’s a stretch of pavement in this area, or rather there isn’t, that appears to be an accident just waiting to happen. According to street vendors nearby, this bit of missing pavement has been in this state for roughly a year and most people have just grown accustomed working around the perilous eyesore.

While it has been established that the exposed section of pipe is electrical piping, a source at the municipality confirmed that the Department of Roads and Stormwater was aware of the problem and would be attending to it shortly.

In the meantime, the pavement is virtually unusable and cars and pedestrians suffer the ongoing inconvenience of this wrack and ruin on the roadside.
