A memorable outing to Durban
While enjoying the sand between their toes on the beach, some tried their luck at the slot machines
As the sun rose on April 9, members of the Estcourt Senior Citizens Club were up and about, preparing for their much-anticipated trip to Durban.
Accompanied by members of the public, 66 people boarded a bus at 7am from Forderville Primary School and made their way to Durban.

Their first stop was at the Sri Krishna Goshala in Thornville. This was an exciting first-time experience for many members and non-members.
“A gentleman gave us a talk about the significance and importance of feeding the cows. We also had a chance to feed the cows, which was exciting and enjoyed by all,” said club Chairperson Mrs Nandhan.
Thereafter it was back on the bus and off to the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium where the India Fair was being hosted. Here the members fulfilled their shopping fix.
The last stop was at Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World. While enjoying the sand between their toes on the beach and some trying their luck at the slot machines and table, a fun time was had by all.By 5pm, the weary travellers headed back to Estcourt, everyone keen for another trip.

“The club would like to thank the members of the public who joined us. We had a lovely trip,” said Mrs Nandhan.
“We would like to thank Nolita Lutchman, Zubair, Rosanne Ramuthar and Junaid for their donations that contributed to making the trip a memorable one,” Mrs Nandhan concluded.
