It’s the Mayfair this weekend

According to the President of the Lions Club, Cindy Mossop, locals can expect even better things this year.

HAVING been in town for well over 20 years, the Mayfair is no doubt Vryheid’s biggest annual event and with another great line-up for this year, it’s not hard to see why.

According to the President of the Lions Club, Cindy Mossop, locals can expect even better things this year.

“We will be having a wedding dress expo this year. I got the idea when I saw the number of local women that had their wedding dresses up for sale on Facebook. I decided to have a stall where locals can come and put their dresses up for sale at just R20, to display,” said Cindy.

Locals can also look forward to the excitement of a colour festival on both Friday and Saturday.

“We are doing our best to bring in some new activities to keep community, young and old, entertained. Many local NPO’s have also taken stands this year and it would be great to see the community supporting them,” she said.

Other things to look forward to include Burst Bubble tea, a waffle stand, as well as old time favourites such as the chip on a stick stall. There are also two new rides that locals should look out for.

There will be a R10 parking fee this year as the Cricket Club’s pitch is used for parking space and the money will go towards the pitch’s maintenance.

“All the money we will be raising as the Lion’s Club will be going back into the community. Everyone’s support will be highly appreciated,” she said in conclusion.

Vryheiders can head down to Cecil Emmett this coming Friday and Saturday to receive their annual dose of entertainment for the whole family.
