THE Bhekuzulu bypass was the scene of an utterly horrific crash in the early hours of Sunday morning.
One person was killed when the light motor vehicle they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck. Although the cause of the accident is still under investigation, the crash caused the truck to jack-knife and overturn.
The driver of the truck miraculously escaped with very little injury and was treated at the scene and then taken to Vryheid Hospital for further care. The driver of the light motor vehicle was not so fortunate and appears to have died instantly.
