Newcastle Volkswagen welcomes its new beast to the market
To say this vehicle is a beast would be an understatement; with its refreshed external look and completely redesigned interior, the new Amarok is now available with VW's distinguished 3.0 litre V6 TDI engine.
NEWCASTLE CBD – The dawn of a new era for Volkswagen commercial vehicles is here.
Newcastle Volkswagen introduced the new Amarok at a launch last Saturday and proclaimed the wait was over.
To say this vehicle is a beast would be an understatement; with its refreshed external look and completely redesigned interior, the new Amarok is now available with VW’s distinguished 3.0 litre V6 TDI engine. This mean machine has 165 kilowatts of power and roars to life to deliver a peak 550 Newton metres of torque.
The engine also provides an overboost function of up to 180Kw for a duration of 10 seconds.
The new Amarok stands apart from its sibling thanks to a new front bumper and radiator grille design which includes, front fog lights, new alloy wheels and a third brake light with LED technology.
Sleek horizontal lines dominate the front of the new Amarok, giving it much smoother looking angled folds and edges.
The cockpit ensures all the bells and whistles are within reach, including a new dashboard design which incorporates Volkswagen’s modular infotainment system with touchscreen radio, App-Connect and optional satellite navigation.
The Bluetooth and USB interface are also standard features.
It’s never too much to absorb, and actually improves the driving experience.
On the open road, the four-wheel drive train quickly translates throttle to the road surface, and the powerhouse has no problem closing on its limited speed of 260km/h.
Expect blistering acceleration from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in just 7.9 seconds.
All that power with just a touch of the accelerator pedal.
The Amarok is available in four equipment trim levels namely Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus and Extreme.
With the Extreme model being the top of the range, it offers a host of special features which includes 20′ alloy wheels and wheel arch extension, bi-xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights and chrome sill bars with integrated LED lighting, to illuminate the area when exiting and entering the vehicle.
The interior is no less exclusive with leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel with gearshift paddles, park distance control with rear-view camera, ergo-comfort driver and passenger seats with 14-way adjustments, with leather seat trim covers.
This double cab combines car-like comfort and technology with the full off-road capability.
