Phobias are no laughing matter, especially when a person is left cringing away from their fear.
However, there are some phobias so strange they are almost laughable, and leave one calling into question the sufferer’s sanity.
Here are six of the strangest phobias to exist:
1. Venustraphobia
This unusual phobia is the fear of beautiful women. Imagine leading a life where the mere sight of a pretty girl or woman leaves you running away in horror?
2. Aurophobia
This is the fear of finding gold. This is a phobia not many would understand – who wouldn’t want to stumble upon ancient riches and live like royalty?
3. Chrometophobia
This is a fear of money, and sufferers often mishandle cash or lose it rather easily. Those looking for employees who won’t demand salary increases every few months, should perhaps start hiring people with this unusual phobia.
4. Papaphobia
This would be an awful phobia for anyone growing up in a Catholic household. People who have papaphobia are terrified of the pope and other saints.
5. Euphobia
In a world where bad news seems rife, this phobia just doesn’t make sense. People with euphobia are scared of getting good news.
6. Phobophobia
Well, this is the height of irony. Basically, phobophobia is the fear of having a fear. Imagine being scared of possibly being scared of something. It doesn’t make much sense.
