Young ladies get funky in Sithembile
"It's all about uniting women by sharing life experiences in hopes that it can touch or help someone else because most people don't want to talk about their self-esteem issues or problems they facing,"
Women were honoured, celebrated and encouraged to be united at the recent Funkiest Ladies event in Sithembile Location, Glencoe.
The event, now in its second year, was started by Lucy Sithole to encourage women to embrace being a woman to the fullest.
“It’s all about uniting women by sharing life experiences in hopes that it can touch or help someone else because most people don’t want to talk about their self-esteem issues or problems they facing,” Lucy said.
“Everyone has a story to share. This event has helped so many young girls gain the confidence to speak out if they have any problems. It’s about time women stopped fighting each other and fought together as one and stand united,” Lucy added.
Lucy hopes that in future the event will grow and more women will see how important they are in this world and stop feeling as if they are not good enough.
Lucy thanked Ward 3 Councillor, Thabane Mlotshwa and Endumeni Municipality who made the day a huge success through their sponsorships.
“Mr Mlotshwa is a light in the darkness who believes in everyone and assists in any situation to his best of abilities,” Lucy added.
