We buy the perfect gifts, plan our Christmas dinner and ensure our decorations are on point.

But all too often we realise there are a few unexpected and last minute items we need before Christmas day.

It is of utmost importance to have a budget in place before you start shopping. This ensures last minute items don’t break your wallet.

Shop around before buying anything. You will save a ton of money this way.

Have a look through retail brochures and see who is offering Christmas deals on their products.

  • Don’t overspend:

Stick to your budget! If you follow the above tips then this shouldn’t be a problem.

  • Try the stokvel method:

Get as many friends and family members together, and put your money together. Buy everything in bulk and share it among all of you. This too is a great way to save money.
