#TipsTuesday: Expecting? Here are five home remedies to help control morning sickness

Just because it’s a normal part of pregnancy, does not mean you have to suffer through it!

The dreaded morning sickness; by now, you may be feeling ‘meh’, with uncontrollable nausea that simply won’t go away.

While this is indeed a normal part of pregnancy, it does not mean you have to accept it and carry on.

There are plenty of remedies out there to help keep the morning sickness at a minimal, leaving you feeling a little better for a few days.

1. Ginger and lemon:

This may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but when the nausea strikes one cannot really be picky about what you have to endure to feel better.

So, you can either eat ginger biscuits or grate fresh ground ginger and make a ginger tea and add a slice of lemon to the mix.

2. Mint:

We cannot guarantee this will take away the nausea, but it’s worth the try.

Legend has it, mint is supposed to have wonderful healing properties.

Try boiling mint leaves and making a mint tea, or even a nice mint fusion water mixture, as it supposedly helps keep the morning sickness at bay.

At least your breath will smell fresh in case it does not work.

3. 100 per cent Guava juice:

Make sure to always a bottle of 100 per cent guava juice at hand.

This definitely can be beneficial to you during this stressful time of your pregnancy.

4. Cola and salt:

Yes, you read this correctly.

A half a glass of cola mixed with a pinch of salt is said to do the trick.

5. Avoid trigger food:

We are sure by now you have noticed what foods and beverages trigger your nausea.

So try and avoid these foods if possible.

Good luck and remember, the morning sickness will all seem worth it as soon as you hold your newborn in your arms for the first time!
