Nofta (Newcastle Organisation for the Aged) celebrated the month of love on Saturday.
The organisation hosted its pre-Valentine’s dinner and dance event at the Nofta Hall, to raise funds for the installation of air conditioning in the structure.
Entertainment was provided by DJ Lyle D, a popular singer from Durban.

He was joined by the hilarious Aunty Roshni – the stage persona of Shrish Hargoon – whose comedic antics had the audience in stitches.
Nofta secretary, Bully Singh opened the function with a welcome.
Singh explained the Nofta Hall was built for the public, and the heat in summer had prompted the organisation to seek quotations for air con units.
“We will host plenty of similar events until Nofta reaches its goal.”
Proceedings got formally underway with a brief speech by Nofta chairman, Rajesh Ramdaw, who heralded February as the month of love.
