#FoodPornFriday: How to make a quick and delicious biltong pasta

We have compiled the perfect, quick and delicious biltong pasta potjie recipe, guaranteed to have your taste buds wanting more!

The one thing any South African can agree on is that biltong is probably the best thing since sliced bread.

And who doesn’t love a delicious pasta dish topped with cheese and mushrooms?

So why not put them together, and call it a biltong pasta potjie?

We have compiled the perfect, quick and delicious biltong pasta potjie recipe, guaranteed to leave your taste buds wanting more! 

Ingredients:

– 500g pasta noodles
– 250ml sour cream or 250ml fresh cream (optional)
– Finely chopped green and red peppers
– Two chicken stock blocks
– One tablespoon Herbs
– One tablespoon garlic paste
– +- 500g sliced biltong of your choice
– One large finely chopped
– 500g grated cheddar cheese
– 500g mushrooms
– Eight tablespoons tomato paste

Sauce:

Mix the chicken stock and herbs with 500ml boiling water and add the tomato paste.

Directions:

– Fry the onions, garlic and green peppers in oil until the onions are soft.
– Add the pasta and the sauce and cook for about 30 minutes,or until pasta is soft.
– The add the sour cream, mushrooms and mix together.
– Then add the biltong and cheese and mix well.
– Let this slowly simmer for 30 minutes on low temperature before serving.
