Newcastle is a town rich in culture and diversity, with many historical places to visit, as well as many modern bars, clubs and lodges, to rival any place in the world. Because of this, the Newcastle Advertiser was curious to find out where Newcastillians liked to go on their days off. Here is what they had to say.

Newcastle is ‘n dorp wat ryk is aan kulturele- en geskiedkundige erfenis. Ons het ook van die beste kuierplekke, kroeë en reservate om te besoek. Die Newcastle Advertiser was nuuskierig om uit te vind watter plekke in Newcastle ons inwoners se gunstelling plekke is om te besoek oor naweke en vakasiedae. Hier was hul reaksies.

Henry van Aardt: “Ons is redelik baie in Newcastle Mall. Dis ‘n lekker plek om net rustig te wees oor naweke en hier is goenoeg om mens ‘n hele dag besig te hou.”
Ilke Botha: “Ek en my familie kuier graag by Vulintaba.”
Tristan Palmer: “I like to visit the Carnegie Art Gallery, and Fort Amiel.”
James Mott: “Me and my friends usually hang out at Pint and Pigout when we want to go out.”
