Show support for Shavathon this Saturday
Are you going bright or bald on Saturday?

Go bright or bald this Saturday and show how brave you are by lending your support for the Shavathon.
The annual Shavthon event raises much needed funds which go towards funding the care and support programmes that CANSA offers.
Not sure how you can get involved? Well, here’s how you can support the Shavathon:
SHAVE:

Much like Barry Brown last year, you too can part with your hair by going bald. Shaving your hair all off may seem daunting an idea, but it shows solidarity for all those cancer patients who lose their hair during treatment.
SPRAY:

If you’re not brave enough to part with your hair, why not spray it a different colour. Japie Hagen and wife Lee Ann opted for the spray last year and made a colourful impression on all who spotted them. Volunteers are always armed with spray cans, eager to add a few new colours to your hair. Want a funky design or a saying? Why not try out the new stencil option, which will leave you looking quite cool in the process.
DONATE:

Soniskha Singh was eager to make a difference in the life of a cancer sufferer last year and did so by donating her ponytail to the cause.
Ponytails are donated to CANSA who uses the hair to make wigs for patients.
You too can donate your hair to CANSA to be made into a wig. To do so, a ponytail must be 25 cm or longer. The hair should be clean and dry. All hair, whether dyed or treated is acceptable, however, CANSA are not able to use dreadlocks.
When cutting the hair, bind both ends with an elastic band and place in a zip-lock bag. Include a paper with your name and contact details on it with your donation. Hair can be donated at Shavathon events or at any CANSA Care Centre nationwide.
You can also donate cash towards the event if you can’t physically support it.
Shavathon will take place this year at the Dundee Boulevard Shopping Centre on March 2 and March 3.
