New weekend activity for Newcastle residents
To continue bringing the community together, Fakie and Peer are keen to host the event on a monthly basis in the future. Good response from residents has given them hope this will succeed.
Succulent food and good company were the order of the day at the Murchison Family Fun Day on Saturday.
Hosted at Total 60 filling station on Murchison filling station, the event was envisioned as something for Newcastle residents to do on a weekend, by organisers Shamira Fakie and Fathima Peer.
“We have people exhibiting from Estcourt, Ladysmith and as far as Weenen hosting stalls,” they explained.
To continue bringing the community together, Fakie and Peer are keen to host the event on a monthly basis in the future. Good response from residents has given them hope this will succeed.
With the right mix of food, snacks and drinks, plus many other goodies and services on offer, those who attended the event thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
“We want to wake Newcastle up with these kind of events,” they concluded.
