Wags and treats at Doggy Hike

Bags of dog pellets and blankets were collected, and R500 was raised for Wakkerstroom Animal Group, more commonly known as WAG.

The 2019 Doggy Hike on June 16 attracted dogs and their owners from Volksrust, Wakkerstroom and Newcastle, to a morning of easy hiking along winding farm trails.

The sharp, crisp winter air proved so invigorating for both the dogs and their owners, they set off at a brisk pace.
Some entrants even finished the hike in under two hours.

The 3.5 kilometre hike enthralled everyone so much, they suggested a dog hike be held on the last Sunday of each month, at the scenic La Belle Esperance Adventure Farm, adjacent to Majuba Mountain.

Bags of dog pellets and blankets were collected, and R500 was raised for Wakkerstroom Animal Group, more commonly known as WAG.

A special word of thanks goes out to sponsors and all the volunteers, who made this premier event such a huge success.
