Farmer’s Market is a fresh success

While some visitors were left disappointed, others took advantage of what was still on sale and supported local entrepreneurs and non-profit organisations, including the Newcastle SPCA.

The highly anticipated Newcastle Farmer’s Market took place at the Pines Wedding and Conference Centre on June 29.

With a festival-like atmosphere, the market kicked off with cool tunes filling the market air, courtesy of a live band and artists.

Market-goers were spoiled for choice, as they indulged in a variety of food, fresh produce, meats, honey and more.

“The response from the public was overwhelming and we welcomed hundreds, if not thousands of guests,” said organiser Zuliana Zaya.

Within two hours, most of the stall holders had sold out their products.

While some visitors were left disappointed, others took advantage of what was still on sale and supported local entrepreneurs and non-profit organisations, including the Newcastle SPCA.

“The aim of the market is to unite the community, through small businesses and subsistence farming,” concluded Zuliana.
