DUNDEE: Bowlers take up the Covid-19 challenge

The Rotary Business League is getting underway

The Friedwaite Covid-19 Challenge was hosted by the club this past Saturday. A total of 24 trips teams (72 players) entered the competition.

Three games of 12 ends were played, with a point awarded for each end won and another four points for a win.

At the end of the day’s play, the scores were tallied and the winners determined. The ‘Stone’ went to Cornel van Wyk and her team from Vryheid, with Jannie Strydom and his team from Dundee winning the ‘Baby Stone’.

The top spot went to the Dundee team of Desmond Johnson, ending up on 40 points +44 – a proud moment indeed! A huge thank you to all the sponsors – Buffalo Coal, Charlies Super Spar, Orange Grove Dairy, BB Transport, Quench Water and many, many others – who chipped in to support the event.

Don’t forget that the much-anticipated Rotary Business League will start this Tuesday evening, with play to also take place on Thursday evenings. For details, contact club president Greg Conolly on 082-924-7788.
