A baby wrapped in a blanket found on the N12

Yesterday, a baby boy who is believed to be 3-weeks-old, was found wrapped in a blanket on the side of the road on the N12, in Klerksdorp.

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson says when paramedics arrived at the scene around 04:30, local authorities were already there.

“Medics immediately assessed the child and found that he showed no visible injuries but was suffering from mild hypothermia,” said Meiring.

The baby was warmed and transported to the Klerksdorp Hospital.
