According to the organisation’s website, their preliminary findings are that the earthquake occurred between Blyvooruitzicht and Western Deep Levels and measured 3.5 on the Richter scale.

It occurred at 12:44:15.

Earthquake information published on the Council for Geoscience Website is obtained from waveforms recorded by the South African National Seismograph Network.

According to Wikipedia, there are over 100 000 earthquakes that measure between 3.0 and 3.9 on the Richter scale in the world every year. Earthquakes of this magnitude are often felt by people, but very rarely causes damage. Shaking of indoor objects can be noticeable.

It is still not sure what caused today’s quake.
