Women make up almost halve of national blood donor base

With August being Women's month, the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is privileged to acknowledge, thank and celebrate women, together with the rest of South Africa, especially those who make up our national blood donor base.

Women make up over 45% of our national donor base and many women’s lives have been saved through blood transfusions.
The SANBS knows the extent to which the lives of women and those of their family members can be changed through transfusions given that almost 28% of the blood issued is used in childbirth and gynaecological emergencies.
The SANBS would like to invite the community of Parys to donate blood
on Tuesday, 8 August between 13:00 and 19:00 at the Reformed Church Hall, Parys, Corner of Loop & Paulsen Street, Parys
Help SANBS collect 50 units of life-saving blood, which can save over 100 lives.
If you are between the ages of 16 and 75, weigh more than 50kg and lead a safe lifestyle, feel healthy, you may register as a blood donor.
Donate blood. Your blood saves lives.
