Community Outreach Brings Joy on Madiba Day
For these residents their outreach brought joy, showing care and compassion.

In the spirit of Madiba Day, caring members of the community joined hands to spread joy and kindness to some of the most vulnerable members of society. Thanks to generous sponsorships and selfless volunteerism, three local institutions – the Epilepsy SA Free State/North West branch, Sally Martin Park, and the Ratang Maqheku Old Age Home – received a special visit that lifted spirits and spread smiles.
Chané Grimbeek and Angelique Kleynhans handed out sweet treats and hosted a lively karaoke session at the Epilepsy branch much to the delight of residents and staff alike.

At the Sally Martin Alzheimer and Dementia Unit, cupcakes were decorated, creating special moments of joy and connection.

They then stopped at the Ratang Maqheku Old Age Home in Tumahole, where they handed out sensory blankets to residents living with dementia.

The outreach was made possible through the financial contribution of KMX Trading Solutions, Fantazia cookies and cupcakes, and the generous support of Dalene Bester, Annemarie Ferreira, Riana Wessels, Sonia van der Walt, and Cecile Janse van Rensburg, as well as the assistance of Harriet Oosthuizen, Irene Mfelang, and Danica Potgieter.
For the residents, the day was a touching reminder that they are seen, valued, and loved.
