
Numerous faults on Ngwathe’s network have resulted in trips to the Eskom network early today, Tuesday 25 October.
Eskom has confirmed in answer to Gazette’s enquiry that they cannot switch supply back on before Ngwathe have repaired the faults.
The power supplier also said that in addition, there is still no payment agreement in place with Ngwathe Municipality, nor have they accepted Eskom’s quotation for an upgrade.
“We have received no payment from Ngwathe for three months. We have previously notified the municipality that the cost of repairs to any of our infrastructure that was damaged due to faults on the municipal network, will have to be covered by the Municipality,” Eskom confirmed
