Advanced life support intervention was immediately initiated by emergency care practitioners after a worker slipped and fell into a Nitrogen storage tank.

Netcare 911 communications officer Shawn Herbst said at 12H18 Tuesday afternoon, Netcare 911 responded to burns case at a chemical manufacturing plant in Benoni on the East Rand.

According to Herbst co-workers who witnessed the man fall pulled him to safety.

Due to the time sensitive nature of the man’s injuries, a Netcare 911 helicopter air ambulance was activated to airlift the patient to a specialist medical facility for further treatment.
