FS Department of Health suspend officials over allegations of ghost workers

The case was referred to the Hawks on Wednesday, 21 February.

The Free State Department of Health corfirmed that four of its officials were suspended over allegations of manipulating systems, hiring and paying ghost workers.
This involves  three officials in Human Resources and one Covid 19 Clerk.
The investigations currently underway have identified 3 such ghost workers who were all fictitiously appointed as medical interns.
According to Mondli Mvambi, spokersperson of the Free State Department of Health, the Department swiftly suspended all 4 officials involved during the period of 5 to13 February 2024 while a possibility exists for more suspensions should such be discovered.
Mvambi said the case was referred to the Hawks on Wednesday, 21 February.
