Volunteers and farmer bring relief to community in dire need
Residents expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers and the kind farmer for their selfless act.
Members of the African Congress for Transformation’s (ACT) volunteer team brought much needed relief for residents of Koppies and Kwakwatsi in dire need of water the past week after the Ngwathe Local Municipality’s water purification plant was flooded. The plant is situated on the bank of the Renoster river that was in flood due to heavy rain.
The crisis left the community without water for four days with the plant not being accessible, and severe damage caused by the flood.
A local farmer that was contacted generously donated water to the community alleviating the crisis. Volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure water was delivered and distrubuted to those in need, the party said.
Residents expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the volunteer team and the kind farmer for their selfless act. “This gesture brought relief and hope to the community during a challenging time,” was said.
