Woman jumps into river at Trimpark bridge
The woman jumped in the river attempting suicide, but was rescued.

A woman jumped into the Moorivier river last night, 4 April in the area of the Trimpark bridge.
A first responder for Mooirivier Beskerming confirmed that the incident happened at about 20:00. He was on the scene. It is believed that the woman jumped in, in a suicide attempt. “She was transported to a hospital while in a stable condition.” The responder adds that she had no serious injuries but will need psychological assistance.
Ryno Meiring, the manager at Mooirivier Mall stated that a proactive mall security guard rescued the woman from the river. “Two security guards heard her screams and rushed down to the river. One of the guards jumped into the river, risking his own life. He was able to pull her from the river where it bends near Panarottis.”
Meiring further stated that ER 24 and Mooirivier Beskerming arrived on the scene, after which ER24 took the woman to hospital.
Rumors circulated that a child was involved in the incident, but later reports from Mooirivier Beskerming confirmed that no child was involved.
