North West Dragons take down Garden Route Badgers
The North West Dragons claimed their first victory of the season.
The women of the North West Dragons claimed their first victory of the season on November 16, when they faced the Garden Route Badgers from Oudtshoorn.
The ladies had a confident, fiery performance, and did it in style. The Dragons won by 27 runs. M. du Preez 89(56), L. de Villiers 41(34), S. Barber 1/15(3) and T. le Grange 1/13(2).
Nail-biting T20 at JB Marks Oval
On the evening of November 14, the North West Dragons faced the Titans in their CSA T20 Challenge match. The Dragons won the toss and captain Wihan Lubbe decided to bowl first.
The Titans raced to 196-6 in 20 overs, before restricting the Dragons to 189-6. Onke Nyaku (2/33), Alfred Mothoa (1/34), and Wihan Lubbe (0/15).
A good bowling effort from the Titans saw them down the North West Dragons by seven runs. Lesiba Ngoepe (65), Wihan Lubbe (46), and Ludwig Schuld (39).
During the last two overs, the home crowd was on their feet, cheering for the North West Dragons, but it was the end of a pulsating game. The Dragons are now in sixth place and no longer have a shot of qualifying for the top four.
