The municipality has received communication from Eskom that there is a strong likelihood of power outage throughout the whole city this Thursday.
According to the JB Marks council spokesperson, Willie Maphosa, this is as a result of labour action should the current negotiations fail.
‘The residents are advised to begin making contingency plans for the possible worst eventuality. For example have generators in working order, fill up gas bottles, fill up your vehicle, get extra candles,’ said Maphosa.
Maphosa says residents will be kept updated as the situation unfolds.
