The Ikageng police arrested a 38-year-old man on Wednesday for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl multiple times in the presence of his wife in Promosa last Saturday.

The suspect is in police custody and appeared in the Potchefstroom Magistrates’ court on Friday. The suspect is still in custody.
According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the Ikageng police spokesperson, ‘the teen alleges that she was watching TV at the fellow tenant’s (the suspect) house when she fell asleep on the couch. The suspect was still up with his wife.
‘In the middle of the night, she woke up on the suspect’s bed without her pyjama pants or underwear. The man was raping her while his wife was in the same bed.’
‘The teen asked the man to stop, but he told her to keep quiet and ordered the wife to hold her down.
The wife acceded to his demands and pinned her down.

After the wife’s disapproval of the rape, he slapped her and proceeded to have sex with her too.
‘He later continued to perform lewd acts on the teen and raped her multiple times.
The terrified teen left in the early hours of Sunday morning and reported the case to the police,’ reported Trom.
