A man from Klerksdorp wrote a poem as a tribute to the victims of the tragedy that happened in Vanderbijlpark last week.

Four learners died and at least 20 others were injured when a raised walkway collapsed.

A Friday like so many before,

the school routine as before,

Tomorrow is Saturday

a day for youthful play.

– Young and Exuberant

– Enthusiastic and Jubilant

like blossoms in bloom

with no thought of gloom.

When the branch of the oak

broke

and fell to the soil

in a serpent coil

For some

Saturday will never come.
