On Sunday morning, around 05:05, the Ikageng Police received a call about an accident in Chele Street, Ikageng. Upon their arrival, they saw a white Volkswagen Kombi on the left side of the street. A 29-year-old man was seen lying next to the car. He was declared dead at the scene.
According to Sergeant Kelebogile Trom, Ikageng Police station spokesperson, the suspected driver of the vehicle could not be found at the scene, however, she appeared after a few minutes. “The 23-year-old suspect was crying and shivering uncontrollably. The police removed her from the scene as the community members wanted to assault her”.
Trom confirms that a case of culpable homicide has been opened and is being investigated.
