According to William Maphosa, Municipal spokesperson, SMSes of updated statements of rates and taxes were sent on Wednesday, 1 April, to all rate payers.
The messages were sent to the rate payers whose cell phone numbers were available on the Municipal database. “It may happen that a different number than that of the rate payer was submitted, but the message will go to the original number submitted to the records,” he said.
The municipality requests residents to pay via EFT by at least, Friday, 10 April.
Additional payments methods will be communicated through the media.
